Take Radio with You across the US
AM and FM Radio, also known as “Terrestrial Radio” is limited to which region you listening. Should you travel outside the greater St. Louis area, eventually you’re out of range on your favorite FM or AM station. Satellite radio overcomes that limitation with coast-to-coast coverage in the USA and many parts of Canada. Satellite radio coverage also extends over 200 miles offshore on either coast. This means if you’re out on the lake, driving to other cities, traveling in an RV or out fishing off the coast, your favorite radio channels are there when you want them.
Another distinct advantage of satellite radio is the limited commercials. Whereas FM and AM radio stations are laden with up to 22 minutes of commercials every hour, satellite radio channels have minimal commercial interruption with most music channels having no commercials at all.
You can access all kinds of programming on satellite radio including:
- Every possible music genre you could ever want
- Comedy channels
- Children’s programming
- Talk Radio in various topics/formats
- Sports channels with live broadcasting (including hockey, basketball, football, baseball, NASCAR, PGA Golf Tour, Indy Racing League and more.)
- Religious-based channels
- International language channels
- Real-time traffic reports
- Real-time weather reports and forecasts
- Severe weather alerts (land, air or sea)
Satellite radio is a subscription-based service with a modest monthly or annual fee that offers over 100 channels. In addition to a satellite radio receiver in your vehicle, you can also allocate your subscription to stream content to your Android or iPhone smartphone through the satellite radio app to enhance your listening options while not in your vehicle. Along with your satellite radio subscription, you can also listen online at your home or office via computer.
JML Audio clients have many choices to add satellite radio to their vehicle, whether you have a high performance aftermarket head unit or the factory-installed radio.
Aftermarket Head Units with Satellite Radio
JML Audio offers the addition of a satellite radio tuner package to many of our aftermarket sources. We have several solutions on display in our Experience Center that can be controlled from the head unit, or that have a separate control panel (useful in boats, for example). A special, dedicated satellite radio antenna is required and in many cases we can integrate directly into the factory antenna as well with no visible addition.
If you already have an existing aftermarket car stereo and wish to add satellite radio to it, no problem. Our expert System Design Consultants have solutions for many car stereos to cover most vehicles (car, truck, boat, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, etc.). We are pleased to demonstrate your possibilities when you have been wanting an in-dash source unit solution to include satellite radio.
Add Satellite Radio to Factory Installed Radios
We can add a satellite radio tuner package to just about any existing factory-installed car stereo. If your vehicle came with the option of satellite radio (such as a ‘SAT’ button or source selection), but it was not installed, we have solutions that operate just as a factory-installed satellite radio option would. These use the car’s existing AM/FM/SAT source selections and are controlled from the radio’s existing buttons. Visit us today and request a satellite radio demonstration so we can determine the best solution for adding a satellite radio package to your factory-installed car system.
