In fact, JML takes this thought process so seriously that our whole staff is involved in at least four trainings per year, even after 20 years of being in the business. Our clients have come to expect an attention to detail and a level of expertise unmatched by other retailers.
One of the biggest trainings we go to every year is called the KnowledgeFest. It is a national event for mobile electronics retailers that has been in existence for two decades. JML Audio closes our store for four days so all of our staff can attend the event. We feel the benefits gained far outweigh any business lost by being closed for four days.
The training we attend is focused on four key areas:
- Management-level training allows the executive team at JML to constantly improve our focus on customer service, marketing and financial aspects of the business. For us to provide award-winning service to our clients, we have to be a service-oriented and financially healthy company.
- Installation training is something that the staff at JML attend at every opportunity. Whenever a new material comes available or we hear about an improved installation method, we strive to offer these to our clients as soon as possible.
- Product training is another area where JML is always looking for opportunities to learn and expand. Since we sell premium products, the level of knowledge and training needed to properly install and use these products is very high. We want our clients to get all of the performance available from their products, so we want to be intimately familiar with all of their capabilities.
- Sales training is the last critical component for the team at JML Audio. We attend this type of training to ensure that we are properly qualifying our clients to make sure they are getting the best solution for them. More than anything, our team wants to become better listeners and learn how to ask better questions to better serve you.
As you can see, training is very important to us. We also feel it is critical to the long-term health of our industry. It is for that reason that JML Audio gives back by teaching at the national level. Our staff have given seminars and done dealer roundtables in topics such as:
- Giving a better client experience
- Designing a topnotch installation bay
- Designing installation parts that look like factory equipment
